History... yep, my degree is in History...

I went to university for five years and I have two degrees... a bachelor of education and a bachelor of arts in History.. with a minor in Medieval Studies...  yep... history and medieval studies... looking back, I know it wasn't the most practical choice, but a liberal arts education in any discipline was still a good choice back when I went to school and I always thought I was going to be an elementary school teacher, so the BA was just a means to an end...

If I had to repeat history knowing now what I know as a middle aged mom, I would probably have picked a much more practical degree - marketing or HR management - since these are the types of jobs I gravitated towards in my twenties and still enjoy...

That's not to say that my degree is wasted in any way, I learned how to form an argument, research and present my case and to apply lessons from history so the past doesn't repeat itself, plus I learned all kinds of wonderfully useless trivia that will stand me in good stead if I ever play NTN again or try out for Jeopardy :-)
