Book Review: Stealing Home by Jennifer Seasons

I have to say that I haven't been a big baseball fan for a while, but this year for hubby's birthday I bought him the MLB package so he can watch games on the iPad and it's gotten me a little more excited for the upcoming season... I guess it doesn't hurt that my hometown Toronto Blue Jays are making waves about actually being competitive too... all this leads up to finding another new author who is mixing up baseball, fun and romance to create a fun new book!

I personally love this back story on how Stealing Home was picked up so I thought I'd share it with you all:
Stealing Home was discovered in the Avon Slush pile, and Editor Chelsey Emmelhainz knew she had get her hands on this diamond of a novel:

“Nothing says springtime like baseball, and nothing says sexy like a ball player in uniform! When I first read Jennifer Seasons’ Stealing Home, I immediately fell for Lorelei and Mark. Jennifer’s characters are wonderfully drawn and the romance that buds between them is fun, flirty, and really resonates with the reader. If you’re a fan of Jill Shalvis and Rachel Gibson, you’ll love Jennifer Seasons!”
From The Publisher:

Mark Cutter has it all:  A lucrative baseball career, fast cars, and faster women—and all thanks to his priceless good luck charm. At least, that’s what he thinks before Lorelei Littleton shows up.  Next thing he knows, he's waking up alone, the sexy brunette has vanished, and his charm is gone. More than a little curious about the wicked-hot cat burglar and determined to get his property back, Mark’s going to track down the little thief and make her pay—big time.

Maybe Lorelei feels a little guilty for stealing Mark’s good luck charm, but when it’s worth $100,000 and the money could save her niece's life? She’s not losing sleep over it…but him? Lorelei can’t get the ballplayer with the bad attitude out of her head. And now he's come after her with more than just revenge in his eyes. Lorelei has a choice: turn over the charm and lose the money or keep it and risk losing everything…including her heart.

My Review:

Stealing Home: A Diamonds and Dugouts Novel is a fun read from right out of the gate - it's got hidden agendas, mis-communication and of course baseball!  The writer's style is fun and engaging although I have to say that there were times when this book took leaps of logic where I just shook my head and thought just get it together, people!   If I had to sum up this romance in three words it would be silly, sassy and sexy!

If you're looking for a light-hearted and fairly quick read with great characters and a few unique twists, then Stealing Home: A Diamonds and Dugouts Novel is just what you want to read!  I am looking forward to the next two books in the series!

You can purchase the kindle e-book for only 99 cents, or  $1.99 on the Nook starting today!  Or pre-order the paperback, which will be out on April 30th!
