Pretty Opinionated started out as a review blog, and that is still the main purpose behind it. Over the last few months, however, I’ve evolved to include fun posts such as Pinterest finds, news about topics and issues that appeal to women and moms, and other interesting content.
2. How long have you been blogging and what do you love about it?
I’ve been blogging off and on for about three years, and solidly for about a year. I love it because it helps improve my writing, gives me a venue to write in my own voice, and connects me to other bloggers with both very similar and vastly different viewpoints from my own. Basically, I think it makes me a more well-rounded person!
3. Who is the person or group behind the blog?
It’s pretty much just me (Nicole). I’m a freelance writer, avid reader, and a single mom to a six-year-old boy. I’m slightly neurotic (seriously, just slightly!) and a total non-conformist. My son, Jacob, does help me review all the age-appropriate products we get.
4. What hobbies/interests do you have?
I love reading, playing video games with Jacob, and finding new ways to expand my knowledge. I’ve always wanted to be a contestant on Jeopardy, so I spend a lot of time learning relatively useless information.
5. If you could invite 4 people (real or fictional, living or dead) to a dinner party, who would you invite and what would you serve?
I would invite the Mad Hatter, Hunter S. Thompson (or just Johnny Depp, since he played both!), David Lynch, and George Orwell. I have no idea what I’d serve them though. Tea and crumpets? The Hatter would like those, at least!
