#Giveaway and Review - Summer Fit Learning Workbooks

Summer vacation is approaching fast and furious - Robyn is in the middle of year end standardized tests and Liam's class is winding down it's true instructional time for celebrations and a chance to play outside more - which is great... it helps ease the transition to summer time, but as a parent I worry about the skills they might be losing over the summer - especially since at his IEP meeting Liam didn't qualify for extended school year this year (which is positive, since there are no major issues, but sad because I know that he'll lose some of the progress he's made.

One of the ways that I as a parent can make sure that school-based skills aren't forgotten is to set aside some time each day to continue to work on those skills, and one of the tools that I've found this year is Summer Fit Workbooks, which goes beyond helping me to keep up with academic skills:

Product Description
Summer Fit contains grade appropriate, basic skill activities in reading, writing, math and language arts. The daily fitness component is a fun and easy-to-use exercise routine that gets children moving on a daily basis and is designed to help children build healthy exercise habits while away from school. Children choose from Aerobic, Strength and Sport activities using a Fitness Index developed by professional trainers, school coaches and parents. Exercises are reinforced online with videos that show children performing each of the different exercises.Weekly core value activities and exercises are a resource for parents and guardians to use in talking about and teaching good character and values. Each week a different value is introduced and reinforced using real world examples of a person who represents that value.
Summer Fit is the most comprehensive summer workbook available and provides parents with the tools and the motivation to develop the physical and social well being of their child as well as the academic.
Summer Fit includes online games to reinforce basic skills in reading, writing and language arts.

My review:
Summer Fit Kindergarten to First Grade: Prepare Kindergarteners Mentally, Physically and Socially for First Grade (Summer Fit Workbooks) I love that this book is set up for children and their parents to tackle specific activities daily and weekly - and that there are accountability measures right in the book!  It is also great that the fitness portion gives you a wide range of ideas to keep everyone moving!  I received the Summer Fit Kindergarten to First Grade: Prepare Kindergarteners Mentally, Physically and Socially for First Grade (Summer Fit Workbooks) but there are summer fit workbookshttp://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=widgetsamazon-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=widgetsamazon-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=0976280078 for every grade from Kindegarten to 5th grade.

Another feature that makes the Summer Fit workbooks different is that they include values lessons which give you the opportunity to remind your children about social skills and remind them of good school behaviors.

If you are looking for some good comprehensive ideas for keeping your kids minds and bodies busy this summer you should check out the summer fit workbooks
