Saturday Blogger Interview with...

I am pleased to invite my blogger friend Melissa from The Kids Are Grown... Now What to join us on AB today!  We share a child with gluten sensitivity and I love reading her blog which has so much variety!

1. Tell us a little bit about your blog:

I have been blogging off and on since 1998. This incarnation started October of 2011. I became too sick to work at a traditional job so I had to find something to do with my time so that I wouldn't go insane!

My daughter was diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity in 2010. It's been an interesting experience trying to find delicious gluten free products as well as creating and converting gluten free recipes so I wanted to share that with others that are going through the same thing. I love trying new products and I am always on the lookout for not only gluten free foods to try but clothes, cat products, movie, books, etc... I cannot tell you how much I enjoy finding something new and sharing it with others and then giving it away! I love doing giveaways!

2. How long have you been blogging and what do you love about it?

Off and on for a what seems like forever. I had a BBS back in the 80's which was the dinosaur age of home computing. I love connecting with people, making my own schedule and creating new recipes.

3. Who is the person or group behind the blog?

My name is Melissa Lawler. I have 3 grown kids and 1 incredible grandson. I also have a psychotic Maine Coon cat named Molly.

4. What hobbies/interests do you have?

I am a VORACIOUS reader! When I have the time I can read a book a day. I am thrilled that I passed my love of reading to my kids and my grandson. I also love to cook and create recipes. I recently started canning and I am having a blast doing that.

5. If you could invite 4 people (real or fictional, living or dead) to a dinner party, who would you invite and what would you serve?

I would make my delicious garlic crusted pork roast with twice backed potatoes and garlic parmesan broccoli. For dessert a flourless chocolate cake. YUM!

President and Mrs. Obama (they count as 1!)

Kurt Vonnegut

My grandmother (She passed in 1995 and I miss her terribly)

Stephen King

6. I can’t live without…

My daughter! She is my lifeline, my best friend and my source of entertainment. We can talk about anything and have some great conversations and we laugh a lot!

7. Something people would be surprised to know about me is…

I HATE Cleaning. I absolutely cannot stand cleaning.
