Saturday Blogger Interview with...

I am pleased to invite Felissa from Two Little Cavaliers to join us on AB today!  Despite not having pets, I always find interesting things on her blog and I'm sure you will too!

1. Tell us a little bit about your blog:

Two Little Cavaliers is a Blog for Dog Lovers. We cover International Headline News Stories about Dogs. But we are not just a news site. We have a weekly cooking feature called Cooking for Dogs these are fun recipes that are great for the entire family to enjoy including the dog. We love to work with Pet Companies and Brands to bring our readers Reviews and Giveaways of products we think that their dog will enjoy. Two Little Cavaliers also highlights adoptable dogs, dog causes, and service animals. We are the home of the Pet Bloggers Blog Hop which has been running since April 2010!

2. How long have you been blogging and what do you love about it?

Two Little Cavaliers was created in February of 2010. There were a few blogs before that including a personal blog from our time living in Hong Kong. I love blogging and meeting new people. With Two Little Cavaliers I have met dog lovers around the world who are passionate about the same things I am passionate about. I love working with everyone from Small Companies to giant International Brands to help them promote their products and services to our readers, friends, fans, and followers.

3. Who is the person or group behind the blog?

My name is Felissa Elfenbein and I am the creator of Two Little Cavaliers. Davinia and Indiana my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are the inspiration and the driving force behind it.

4. What hobbies/interests do you have?

I enjoy cooking, reading, photography, and the theater. I love to travel. I my dream job would be to travel around the world with Davinia and Indiana and blog about our experiences - the places we go, the people we meet, and the adventures we have.

5. If you could invite 4 people (real or fictional, living or dead) to a dinner party, who would you invite and what would you serve?

I don't really have an answer to this question. I actually never have answers to questions like this. I wouldn't want the dinner party to be too formal but at the same time I would want to serve something really nice with several courses soup, salads, main course, and dessert. Not quite as big as Thanksgiving Dinner but close.

6. I can’t live without…

I can't live without Chinese Food and apparently my new addiction is sweet tea. I love MINI Coopers.

7. Something people would be surprised to know about me is…

As a blogger I think many people assume that I Blog because I can't do anything else. I have a BA in History and an MBA in Operations Management I just happen to love Social Media. I think that this is a huge misconception in the blogging world in general because someone blogs about raising their family, or about dogs, or about cooking that there is not another dimensions to the person behind the blog. In college I was the Assistant Director for my old Elementary School's Drama Club. I was the Stage Manager for my college Dramatic Society and did various "jobs" for the men's campus Dramatic Society as well. I lived in Hong Kong for a year where I had my own business which I created after a trip to a street market. I love dogs and I love Social Media so Blogging has been a great fit for me. I also happen to have a full time job that is completely unrelated to Blogging or Dogs.

8. Three of my favorite blogs to visit are (includue urls) :

The creator of Life with Dogs http://lifewithdogs.tv/ is my blogging mentor and friend. I met him at the very first Blogging conference I ever attended and we have talked at least a few times a month ever since. He is my blogging inspiration my dream is to have a blog as his has become.

Simply Stacie at http://www.simplystacie.net/ she is one of the first Bloggers I met when I was starting out. She has always been so open about sharing what works for her as a blogger and what doesn't. She has great Giveaways but she is not just a Giveaway Blogger. She is a Blogger that knows that in order for her blog to succeed that she needs to share her knowledge to help others succeed.

I love the Blog Gluten Free Goddesshttp://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/ I have never met her and I might never even have left a comment on her blog but I get so excited when I see she an email from her that she posted another recipe. Her recipes are always so amazing. The pictures make your mouth water and you just want to go to the store to get the ingredients to make everything she posts.

9. Three of my favorite posts on my blog are (Include urls) :

One of the most impactful posts I ever wrote was this one US Military Family Doesn’t Want to Leave Pets Behind!http://twolittlecavaliers.com/2011/03/us-military-family-doesnt-want-to-leave-pets-behind.html After the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan I started writing articles about any information about the animals that were left homeless because of the disaster. I was sitting in my Hotel room at Global Pet Expo a few days later and saw a Facebook Status update go by of someone looking for help in getting their animals out of Japan. I knew that if there was one family that was in need that there would be others as well so I put the post together and asked my readers, friends, and family to share it in hopes of getting them the help they needed. After the post went up I was contacted by the military and not only get this family the information they needed but other families who contacted us as well.

Davinia’s Story Details of the Night She Was Viciously Attacked.http://twolittlecavaliers.com/2012/02/davinias-story-details-of-the-night-she-was-viciously-attacked.html It is a difficult read but it gives the back story on why I started Two Little Cavaliers. It was an outlet for me during Davinia’s Recovery.

Many Dog’s suffer from car sickness and so did Davinia before a Veterinarian gave us an amazing tip about Dramamine.http://twolittlecavaliers.com/2011/12/does-your-dog-suffer-from-car-sickness.html Davinia went from throwing up every time she got in the car to loving going on adventures. I think other dog owners will find this post useful.
