9 at 9 ~ An Interview with....

I am pleased to invite my friend Pamela from Troop Petrie to sit in the hot seat today and tell us a little bit more about herself, her blog and who she'd invite to dinner!

1. Tell us about your blog:
I honestly had a hard time coming up with the name Trooppetrie (http://www.trooppetrie.blogspot.com/)
All the good ones were already taken. I often refer to my kids as a troop so it made since and I wanted part of our name in there so my friends could find it easily. I love my blog; I love to share my life with other people. I love that my husband can keep up with us when he is deployed. I love to write about a million different things. I write about what I am cooking, what my crazy children are doing, how I deal with PTSD and having a preemie. I love doing blog carnivals. I love to tell you about our homeschool adventures and what is going on with our church family. The one thing you will not find on my blog is perfect grammar. One day I will have time to go back and edit it and make it the way I want it. But for now I am writing with six little (okay one is over 6 foot tall) ones running around and well we all know what happens when you open the computer for 5 minutes. Something gets stuck in the toilet; someone starts writing on the wall.

2. How long have you been blogging and what do you love about it?

Since February 2009, WOW somehow I did not realize that it had been that long. What I love about blogging is that my friends and family who do not live close can still get a glimpse of what is going on in our lives. I love how many other bloggers I have met. There are other people in the world who are going through the ups and downs of life like me. There are other bloggers who share my same interest. I love meeting them.

3. Who is the person or group behind the blog?

Who am I, hmm sometimes I do not know. I am a mom, I love being a mom. I grew up saying I wanted be a mom and teacher and I am doing exacting what I want. I am the wife of a soldier, I am a conservative Christian. I love to bake and I love to cook for other people. Taking food to a friend brings me such joy.

4. What hobbies/interest do you have?

A couple of years ago I learned the basics of sewing and really enjoy what I can do. I know the basics of cake decorating and love it when I learn new things. I love scrapbooking and making cards but honestly have not opened ascrap book in 2 years. I keep thinking in our next house I will have more space.

5. If you could invite 4 people (real or fictional, living or dead) to a dinner party, who would you, invite and what would you serve?

This sounds silly because I am not going to list anyone historical. I would invite Dr. Phill because goodness knows my head needs some help. I would invite Beth Moore or Joyce Meyer because I could really use some honest advice about my walk with Christ. I would then invite Chonda Pierce and Tim Hawkins because oh man oh man I need to laugh. WAIT WAIT! If I was having them come over then we would have to have the Pioneer Women so she could cook because when I say I love cooking I never said it tasted good.

6. I can’t live with without…..

if this question was asked 2 months ago I would have said MOUNTAIN DEW, if you have read my blog for very long you know that I have been addicted to the green juice since high school. Well I gave up the green juice 2 months ago. So what cant I live with…..I would say my cell phone. I need to be able to check if my husband is on line when I am at the store. I literally do not take a shower unless it is next to the shower in case he calls. It is always fun the first night he is home and I leave it in the living room and go to bed without listening for it to chime all night.

7. Something people would be surprised to know about me is………

If you have seen pictures of me you would be surprised to know that I was anorexic for part of my life. If you have been around me long you know my goal is to be a quieter person. If you have talked to me you may be surprised to know that I am really self conscious and very insecure. I often lay in bed and question what stupid things I said throughout the day. I have to fight the urge to call people and explain what I said and why I said it.

8. Three of my favorite blogs to visit are MckMama http://mycharmingkids.net/ , My Little Life http://fivecrookedhalos.blogspot.com/ , Home Grown Families http://www.homegrownfamilies.net/

9. Three of my favorite posts on my blog are:
Camera Strap Tutorial (http://trooppetrie.blogspot.com/2010/12/camera-strap-tutorial-give-away.html) because I felt like I knew what I was doing,

Laundry soap because I seriously go back to it all the time because I cannot remember the recipe (http://trooppetrie.blogspot.com/2010/02/laundry-soap.html) . I still use it all the time.

The last one would be any of my Letters to my Hero, because I feel like it lets other people know what Army life is really like (http://trooppetrie.blogspot.com/2010/05/how-to-connect-to-with-your-spouse.html) .

So how can you find me? I am on twitter https://twitter.com/#!/trooppetrie and on facebook http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100002244203624 and on google under Trooppetrie https://plus.google.com/115846964786147505910#115846964786147505910/about/edit/d
