Taking Baby steps to a more natural life with Johnson's Baby Naturals

It can be a struggle to balance being natural with being a parent - you want what's best for your children, the environment and for yourself, but there are so many considerations and options out there.  I can honestly say that as a family we are taking baby steps towards being more natural and greener at our house, but we have a long way to go.

One place that I'm pretty picky about what goes into my kids and onto their skin, and I read every package for 'hidden' ingredients and more, so when I was asked to try out Johnson's Baby Naturals line, the first thing I did was head over to their website and check the ingredients list... and I was pleased to see that they've really worked hard to provide an option that is both natural AND gentle!  Many of the other products I have tried with Erik and Liam were natural but definitely not gentle or tear free...

I've found that they are:

  • ALWAYS MILD & GENTLE™
  • Paraben Free
  • Dye Free
  • No Irritating Essential Oils
  • Allergy Tested
  • Dermatologist Tested
  • Hypoallergenic
I also really like that they have an ingredient list for each product that tells you not only what the ingredient is but where it comes from and how it's used!

We've been using Johnson's Baby Naturals for a little over a week now and Erik is loving it!  What I've noticed, using the foaming body wash and the baby shampoo is that this formulation does not have as much bubble action as their original products, nor many other shampoos and body washes with more conventional or synthetic ingredients... we often use our baby shampoo or body wash to give Erik bubbles in the bath - and this doesn't work as well for that.  Beyond that, it works to leave Erik's hair and skin soft and clean and I love the scent of these new products - it's subtle and really nice!  My favorite product by far is the Johnson's natural body lotion - it's so creamy and isn't greasy at all on Erik's skin.  All of the products are hypoallergenic - which for me is a big deal because of Erik's sensitive skin - and he's had no adverse reaction to any of the products.

We've really been trying hard to go more natural, simpler and greener in our family and I love finding products that get us towards that goal but still keeping the qualities that I've come to expect from Johnson's baby products - gentle and tear free!  On top of that, Johnson's Natural line recently won the 2012 Better Homes and Gardens Best New Product Award!
