Friday Fragments

Wow - it feels weird to be writing this FF post on Friday... normally I write it Thursday night, but I actually went out for dinner and a movie with a friend instead of doing this during it's normally scheduled time.  It was my second night out in a row without kids... whodathunk that could ever happen...but I liked it...

Yesterday Hubby and I had date night - a little shopping and dinner out... it was nice not having to lug a diaper bag, toys, sippy cups and other kid paraphernalia into the restaurant!  And adult converations!

Tonight I tried a really neat cocktail ... it was called 12 Drummers Drumming in honor of the fact that the bar we went to had created (or borrowed) twelve fun new drink ideas for the holidays... all based on the 12 days song... not sure what Kaluha Cinnamon Spice and Ginger Ale on the rocks has to do with drumming... unless you have too many and the hangover is bad... but darn was it ever yummy!

I also went to see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo ... now that was a director who didn't hold back... not a movie for the squeamish ... even if you've read the book, but still very compelling and thought provoking...

As for the kids, Liam is really missing the routine of school and his daily trips on the school bus... It's hard to have that amount of structure on the holidays and I know he has trouble dealing with everything... but he's still singing Christmas Carols and has learned to tear up the track with his AppMates Lightning McQueen and his iPad...

Robyn has gone into hiding a bit... she's captivated by her Christmas gift... a Nook Tablet... so many books, so little time...

Erik is growing more daring every day... he's trying to open doors, climb everything and is learning to jump... I'm scared... one kid who flies off furniture is enough to give me grey hair, the second one might make me completely grey...

In other news, it seems we have a family poltergeist... a few months ago a cabinet fell off the wall at my in-laws place, last week it was the shelf with all of my platters that crashed around me and finally, one of my mother in law's neighbors who checks their house while they are away called today to say that the bedroom door had fallen over... strange... very strange...

Well it's now 12:30 AM and I know that later this morning (probably not much later) I will be getting up to start my day with the boys... so I'll bid you goodnight and leave you with this link to Mrs. 4444's and the rest of the fun Fraggers:
