Amy's Light and Lean Meals for the New Year

Now that Christmas is over, I am really trying to eat lighter and healthier.  I don't make new year's resolutions, but I know just how much I've indulged - the cookies, the turkey, the stuffing, the pies... too much!

I've had a chance to test out 5 new Amy's Lean and Light Meals over the past few days and I'm happy to say that Light and Lean does not mean flavorless!

I tried out:

  • Bean & Cheese Burrito (SRP $2.69/6oz)
  • Roasted Polenta (SRP $4.89/8oz)
  • Spaghetti Italiano (SRP $4.89/8oz)
  • 3 Cheese Penne Marinara (SRP $4.89/8oz)
  • Sweet and Sour Asian Noodle (SRP $4.89/8oz)
Surprisingly, my favorite dish out of the five was the one I was dreading trying - the Roasted Polenta - I've tried polenta before and it's either fabulous or for the dogs... and this one was fabulous!  I had it for lunch the other day and shared a little bit with Erik... and he took over - and licked the container clean:

suffice it to say that we both liked it:

All five of the new varieties were easy to prepare and really tasty!  Erik liked them all too, so I think we've found a great way to share lunch this year!  I love that Amy's meals are vegetarian and organic- I'm an omnivore, but prefer to find lunch options that are full of vegetables and alternate proteins and these frozen meals are perfect for that!
