OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover Review

With three kids in my house, there are no end to the number and variety of stains that I have to try and get out of my laundry.  With Robyn it's the miss your mouth syndrome - and this year she is wearing a white uniform shirt (so you can imagine my fun).  With Liam, it's a combination of things - dirt, grass, food and the worst one is probably red or purple juice stains.  For Erik, it's pretty similar - formula, food, dirt and the occasional explosive diaper incident - yep - if you're revolted by diaper talk you should probably stop reading now... because I have to say that I'll be focusing on telling you about the poop, the whole poop about my OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover experience (with photo evidence and bad puns).

OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover is a versatile product that can be used for clothing, upholstery, carpet, and even hard surfaces, but for me it's all about the laundry.
The original OxiClean®. An incredible oxygen-based stain fighter that’s chlorine free and color safe. Designed for maximum strength stain removal, in your laundry and around your home. Use in every load, or pre-treat and let it soak in! Soak overnight for powerful and astounding results – even the most impossible stains get washed away!
The unique formula is activated by water, unleashing bubbling oxygen power for safe, effective cleaning. It boosts your laundry water pH to improve your detergent’s cleaning ability, and its special ingredients are designed to help rinse soils away. Available in Regular and Free (scent and dye-free) varieties.
I had the opportunity to see just how effective OxiClean is in a real bummer of a situation ....

Erik was almost at the point last week where he was ready to move up a size in diapers... I was holding out because I wanted to finish out the package we were on (and not waste diapers) but a little incident with some explosive poop has me singing a different tune and reaching for the OxiClean!

I decided to presoak it because I didn't really want to take any chances - so I grabbed this cool OxiClean bucket, read the directions on my OxiClean and set it to work:

I followed these directions:
Pre-Soak for best results on your tough, dried-in stains
  1. Mix OxiClean® powder with water (as directed on packaging). Be sure that powder is completely dissolved.
  2. Add stained item and soak for 1 to 6 hours.
  3. Begin filling washer with proper temperature water for your load (see garment care tag).
  4. Add detergent AND OxiClean® (as directed on packaging) before adding laundry.
  5. Add item with laundry load and wash as normal.
and here's the result - just like new:

which is great, because these are one of my favorite pairs of overalls... both boys have worn them and I would have hated for a stain to have ruined them.

I can't wait to use OxiClean for other things around the house, but I know that next time I have a major stain, I am going to reach for the OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover and pre-soak it to make sure it's done right the first time!
