Wow... there's alot of Gluten free...

After hemming and hawing for nearly a year, and a false start... we have committed to trying to keep our son on a gluten free diet for a trial two month period... Liam was diagnosed with Autism almost a year ago and we started looking into everyone's theories... one step we weren't quite ready to commit to was going GFCF because grains and bread made up more than half of Liam's diet and was the easiest way to get protein into him.. fast forward to last week - he had a stomach ailment that sidelined him for a few days and we switched to an all liquid diet (which he loved - like father, like son) but it gave us some interesting feedback - despite being sick and yucky - he was talking and responding more...

So we took the plunge and started small ... buying a few cookies, breakfast bars and other treats to replace his favorite 'gluten' items... and we are going to try a few more new flavors - then Wednesday we are going to try baking our own bread, Liam and I... should be intresting - with a recipe from this other cool blog I found http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/
