#Giveaway and Book Review - Hide'n Go Seek

I reviewed the first book in the Psychic Visions series, Tuesday's Child not too long ago, and now have the opportunity to do a review AND a giveaway of the second book!  What is exciting about this giveaway is that you have a choice - paperback (which comes out at the end of November) or e-book!  And if you choose e-book, the giveaway is open WORLDWIDE, paperback option is US only.

But before I get ahead of myself and just post the giveaway, let me tell you about Hide'n Go Seek:

From the Publisher:

A twisted game of Hide’n Go Seek forces an unlikely alliance between a no-nonsense FBI agent and a search-and-rescue worker.

Celebrated search-and-rescue worker Kali Jordon has hidden her psychic abilities by crediting her canine partner Shiloh with the recoveries. But Kali knows the grim truth—The Sight that she inherited from her grandmother allows her to trace violent energy unerringly to victims of murder. No one knows her secret until a twisted killer challenges her to a deadly game of Hide'n Go Seek that threatens those closest to her.

Now she must rely on FBI Special Agent Grant Summers, a man who has sworn to protect her, even as he suspects there's more to Kali and Shiloh than meets the eye. As the killer draws a tighter and tighter circle around Kali, she and Grant find there's no place to hide from themselves.

Are her visions the key to finding the latest victim alive or will this twisted game of Hide’n Go Seek cost her…everything?

My review:

This book, like the first one in the series was packed with enough action, suspense and drama to keep me hooked from beginning to end!  Although I'm not usually a 'paranormal romance' reader, I have to say that the way that Dale Mayer incorporates the main character's extraordinary abilities makes sense and is totally believable in the modern world - she's a normal human being with extra senses as opposed to someone otherworldly... I also love how the character grows into her abilities throughout the book - she has to work through her own issues as well as solving the deadly mystery, which lends an additional air of humanity to the story.  I have to say that this time the whodunnit part had me... the plot twists and red herrings were well spaced and I fell into a few of the author's well laid traps while reading the book and thinking that I was way ahead of the game...

For me, this time the romance was more secondary to the suspense part of the story - although it was still intense, and if you are someone who doesn't like to go past 'blush' in their romance, then you won't want to go for this book - it gets pretty steamy!

I really appreciate the way that Dale Mayer brings life to all of her characters, large or small... because you can tell that she's gotten to know each and every one of them intimately before she writes their story...

I also appreciate that the author has made this book stand alone enough that if you haven't read Tuesday's Child, you can still enjoy Hide'n Go Seek for itself!  They share a premise and some secondary characters, but it really is it's own story from start to finish!  If you like a great mystery with some great romance thrown in for good measure, then you definitely want to pick up Hide'n Go Seek!
