One of the hardest things in having a child on a Gluten Free diet is finding substitutes that look good and taste great and appeal to my 5 year old. One of the companies that I discovered early on was Schar! Liam loved their bread and I loved that it came in a shelf stable package and could be left in the fridge rather than the freezer once opened, making it way more convenient to make sandwiches for him! It was so good that I'd even eat it myself!
Schar has re-launched three yummy products - their Gluten Free Sub Sandwich Rolls, Ciabatta and Baguettes are all new and I can't wait to get some of each for Liam to try out!
I am especially excited for the Sub Sandwich Rolls because we love to make subs as a quick dinner and I always feel bad that Liam's sandwich is on plain bread or bagel. Now he can join in and have a sub with us! They' re described as delicious, low fat, non-GMO and an excellent source of fiber! What more can you ask for?
As Liam gets older, I'm sure he'll also be interested in trying the Ciabatta Rolls, which are the first gluten-free heat and serve chibatta rolls available in the US! And they're light, fluffy and also a great source of fiber!
And I can't forget to describe the baguettes - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, I'm sure these baguettes would be perfect for dipping in soup, making garlic bread or just enjoying as your bread with pasta or other meal!
