I am pleased to be reviewing The Dumpster: One Woman's Search for Love as part of Becky Due's virtual tour with Pump Up Your Book.

About the Book
The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love is a Contemporary Romance Novel set in Miami, Florida about Nicole, a cute, chubby, twenty-something woman, who is looking for love in all the wrong places. Who would have guessed that a dumpster in the back alley below her bedroom window would hold the key to finding love?

My Review:
The Dumpster: One Woman's Search for LoveThis book had a cute premise and some really funny parts but I had a bit of a hard time getting into it.  I think my problem is that I constantly wanted to shake Nicole, the protagonist, because she's got so many issues clouding her dating life.  I'm sure that this may be something that some women can relate to, but I just couldn't get comfortable until the second half of the book.  If I hadn't been reviewing it, I might never have gotten there, but I'm glad I stuck it out, because the end is funny and endearing.
I honestly think that this book would appeal more to a single woman or one who had experienced a bit of a roller coaster dating life.  I was the girl who married young and didn't experience the 20-something dating scene, so I really can't relate. I did get some insight into how my friends may have felt when I got married and they were still single, and as I had kids and they were still single.  And as I said, the ending is worth the read!
This book was well written, insightful and funny, and just because I'm a 13 year married, sleep deprived mom of 3 and didn't really get it, doesn't mean you can't get some great reading out of The Dumpster: One Woman's Search for Love.
