Book Review and Give Away - Rock Stars of the 80's and 90's

After reviewing another book about Rock Stars, I was approached by Victoria Mitchell to review her book: Rock Stars of the '80s and '90's!  A Collectors Book of Memorabilia

From the Publisher: "The more you love music, the more music you love," Said Abram Chaisins, pianist and composer.  His sentiment is brought to light vividly and artistically in Victoria Mitchell's new book, Rock Stars of the '80s and '90's!  A Collectors Book of Memorabilia. Mitchell's art is not about what she wants to see, but rather, about what she wants you to see... about a significant and miraculous time in the evolution of music.  Mitchell's book depicts some of the most famous bands and musicians from the '80s and '90s.  Having always been a music lover, Mitchell found it almost effortless to capture camera essences of musicians such as Jon Butcher and Stevie Ray Vaughn.  Climb on Victoria Mitchell's memorabilia bandwagon and enjoy the dazzling nostalgic ride.

My review:
This book is what it says it is... a dazzling array of concert and back stage photos from the '80s and '90s but the one thing I would have liked more was more words to describe and enlighten the viewer about the bands and individuals pictured... As a catalog of Ms. Mitchell's work as a photographer, this is a wonderful chronicle!  The photos are vivid, alive and stirring - many let you rush back to your concert going days with nostalgia and whimsy... Some of my favorite pictures include Poison, Kiss and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
There are also candid and interesting interview photos too... which show a different side of many of the rockers...
As a photo album and collection, this book is a good addition to your collection, but if you are looking for history or biographical information about the rockers themselves, this book isn't for you.
