1. Yesterday (Sunday) was National Adoption Day in the US - does your family (or friend family) have an adoption story?
H - Robyn is adopted - she has been with us since she was 3.5, but I honestly can't remember our lives without her in it! She actually wasn't formally adopted until after we moved to the US, but either way she is the daughter of my heart!
W - ditto
2. Do you plan out your Thanksgiving preparations? When do you start?
H - I have done most of my grocery shopping and I'll start defrosting my turkey and make the cranberry sauce on Wednesday, but everything else will be done on Thursday.
W - I plan to work.
3. Shopping on holidays - pro or con? What do you think of stores and malls opening at 6 PM or 10 PM on Thanksgiving for "Black Friday" What about Midnight or 3 AM? Are you planning to shop at any time this coming weekend?
W - I don't care about when shops open and I won't be shopping.
H - I don't like that the time for Black Friday keeps getting pushed further and further back - heck, I've had stores tell me to shop their Black Friday sales for two weeks! Robyn and I will probably head out about 3 am since that's when the Tanger sale is best, but I plan to stay away from the major retailers at least until mid-morning on Friday. I respect stores that won't be opening until Friday to allow their staff at least one day of family time in this crazy sales frenzy...
4. Do you have a fireplace? Do you use it? If you don't, do you want one?
H - No fireplace in this house and I miss it sometimes - my favorite fireplace was a woodburning stove that we had in Kitchener - it was fabulous and so toasty warm!
W - I miss having a fireplace and the little family room in Kitchener - it was perfect for this time of the year!
